Actual Wolf

Actual Wolf, also known as Eric Pollard, is an American singer-songwriter and instrumentalist. He is best known for his work as the leader and songwriter for his eponymous band, Actual Wolf, as well as his instrumental work in Retribution Gospel Choir, Sun Kil Moon and Low. Born and raised in Minnesota, Pollard went to high school and college in Wisconsin, where he met Justin Vernon. He has been part of multiple bands throughout his career, including Retribution Gospel Choir, Low and Sun Kil Moon. In 2012, he self-released an EP under the name Actual Wolf, which led to a residency at the Turf Club and a show on the main stage at First Avenue in Minneapolis. He released his debut full-length album in 2013, and has since lived in Nashville and Oakland before settling in Ashland, Oregon, to continue his music career.
