Camellia Boutros

Camellia Boutros is a musician and producer based in San Francisco, who draws on her experiences growing up in the Arab world and the West Coast. She often performs as a trumpet player with various Bay Area bands, but she writes and performs her music using a custom modified fretless 12-string electric guitar, which allows her to use the quarter-tone Maqam system. Her band includes a kit drummer, bassist, saxophonist, and occasionally synthesizer, resulting in a diverse range of sound. Camellia's music and lyrics combine rock, folk, jazz, Arab, and brass band music, which can be found on her first solo album Refuge.
