Cellist David Finckel and pianist Wu Han are a musical tour de force, who have earned the title of Musical America's Musicians of the Year and are in high demand among audiences worldwide. From the Aspen Music Festival to the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, the duo's stunning concerts take them to the most prestigious venues, concert series, and festivals across the United States, Europe, and Asia.
Their exceptional talent for playing the cello and piano, combined with their artistic direction and innovative spirit, have earned them a reputation as true leaders in the classical music world. In 1997, they founded ArtistLed, the first internet-based classical recording label, and have since released over 20 albums that showcase their virtuosity and versatility. As the Artistic Directors of the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center and the founders of Silicon Valley's Music@Menlo festival, they have revolutionized the classical music world with their groundbreaking programming and educational initiatives.
In addition to their work as performers and artistic directors, David Finckel and Wu Han are dedicated educators, passionate about inspiring and guiding the next generation of musicians. They have been faculty members of Isaac Stern's Chamber Music Encounters, oversee the Chamber Music Institute at Music@Menlo, and provide a wealth of guidance and resources for students and arts organizations through their website.
Raised in New Jersey and Taiwan respectively, the duo's musical journeys took them to the United States where they were mentored by legends in their field and went on to achieve remarkable success.
