Flynn Cohen
Flynn Cohen is a highly regarded musician known for his impressive skills on acoustic guitar and mandolin. His talent has taken him across the globe to perform with many renowned artists in traditional and contemporary acoustic music. Fans can catch him in action with American folk band LOW LILY (formerly known as Annalivia), as well as the iconic Irish accordion player John Whelan. Flynn's extensive repertoire also includes duo shows featuring music from his four solo albums.
Over the course of his career, Flynn has collaborated with a wide range of artists such as Ruth Moody, Halali, The Sevens, Aoife Clancy, and Cathie Ryan, to name a few. His impressive resume includes performances at the Library of Congress, Kennedy Center in Washington D.C., Lincoln Center, and Carnegie Hall in New York City. He has also lent his musical talent to various symphonies and ensembles including the Vancouver Symphony, Orchestra of Indian Hill, Revels, and Footworks Percussive Dance Ensemble.
Flynn's musical education includes studies under acclaimed musicians like John Renbourn, Davey Graham, Scott Nygaard, and Paul Binkley. He holds degrees in Music from Dartington College of Arts in Devon, England, and Mills College in Oakland, California. Flynn also taught in the Music Departments at Keene State College in New Hampshire and Bridgewater State University in Massachusetts. Currently, he shares his knowledge and experience as an online guitar instructor with Peghead Nation.
