Jâca
Jâca, a clarinet and guitar duo that seamlessly blends classical and world music, is making waves in the musical world. Their unique sound reflects the versatility of their instruments, as well as their diverse musical and cultural heritage.
Hailing from Fort Collins, CO, clarinetist Wesley Ferreira is a sought-after soloist and orchestral musician. He brings his Portuguese heritage to the duo, incorporating Fado music into their arrangements. Jaxon Williams, a Los Angeles-based guitarist, is also a Flamenco performer and has a passion for Spanish music. In addition to their music careers, both Wesley and Jaxon are esteemed educators and presenters. They founded the Jâca Cultural Exchange Program (JCEP) to support underserved musical communities and host the Emerging Composers Competition to create new music for clarinet and guitar.
Since 2012, Jâca has performed in concert halls and music festivals around the world, receiving praise from press outlets for their innovative approach to classical music. But what truly matters to the duo is the connection they make with individual audience members. Their concerts are described as "exciting" and "remarkable," and they leave a lasting impact on those who experience their music.
Jâca represents the limitless potential of an interconnected world, dividing their time between the USA, Canada, Spain, and Portugal. They are at the forefront of an exciting new wave in classical chamber music and continue to push the boundaries of what is possible in the genre.
