Tenebrae is known for its captivating performances at major festivals and venues across the globe such as the BBC Proms, Wigmore Hall, Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, Rheingau Musik Festival, and Sydney Festival. The choir has earned international recognition for its interpretations of choral music from the Renaissance to contemporary masterpieces, and has even commissioned new music from prominent composers. Tenebrae has collaborated with some of the UK’s leading orchestras and is sought after for session work, having contributed vocals to notable projects including Max Richter's "Voices," Jean-Jacques Annaud’s "Notre Dame brûle," and the blockbuster film "Avatar: The Way of Water." Tenebrae’s extensive recording catalogue has earned two BBC Music Magazine Awards and a Grammy nomination.
Tenebrae is not only a standout on Signum's roster, but it is widely regarded as one of the best choirs in the world. Its core values of "Passion and Precision" shine through in its performances, creating unforgettable experiences that inspire audiences globally. In addition to its performance schedule, Tenebrae runs a thriving Learning & Connection program, offering workshops and support for young professional singers, classroom singing for local primary schools, and partnerships with Music Centre London and London Youth Choirs.
