Terrapin Flyer
Terrapin Flyer is celebrating two decades of bringing the Grateful Dead experience to life on stages across the US. The band's rotating cast of musicians reads like a who's who of the jam band world, including former members of the Grateful Dead and Jerry Garcia Band. Over the years, hundreds of talented performers have shared the stage with Terrapin Flyer, including Bob Bralove, Mark Karan, Sugar Blue, and Scott Guberman. Though the lineup is always changing, one thing remains constant: Terrapin Flyer always brings the fun. Their Facebook page boasts over 25,000 followers who eagerly await their next show.
The band's popularity is due in no small part to their connection with the Merry Pranksters, who have adopted Terrapin Flyer as their own over the past few years. With original Pranksters Ken Babbs and George Walker, Terrapin Flyer has performed in multiple states and is a favorite in Eugene, Oregon, where the Pranksters are based.
Terrapin Flyer has explored the roots of the Grateful Dead, performing many tours with former Grateful Dead keyboardist Tom Constanten and Jerry Garcia Band member Melvin Seals. With Constanten, the band performed at the Chicago White Sox Grateful Dead Night, and with Seals, they became a legitimate draw in theaters across the country. But even without these legends, Terrapin Flyer continues to spread the joy and spirit of the Grateful Dead to fans old and new.
