US Navy Sea Chanters

The United States Navy's official chorus, the Navy Band Sea Chanters, perform a diverse range of music including choral, sea chanteys, patriotic, opera, Broadway, and contemporary music. They entertain audiences at public events in the Washington D.C. area and on national tours, and regularly perform for the President, Vice President, and dignitaries. Established in 1956 by Lt. Harold Fultz, the group was originally formed to sing chanteys and patriotic songs. In 1980, women were added to the ensemble, expanding its repertoire to include a wide range of musical styles. The Sea Chanters continue to carry out their mission to preserve the songs of the sea.
