Oregon Shakespeare Festival Presents Preface For Where We Belong: A Play Introduction

The preface for Where We Belong is an opportunity to dive deeper into the themes and ideas presented in the show. Written and performed by Madeline Sayet and directed by Mei Ann Teo, the play explores the power of language and the legacy of colonialism through the lens of the Mohegan language and community. Attendees will gain a greater understanding of the personal journey of the artist and the historical context of the play. Through interactive discussion and personal engagement, the preface will provide a deeper connection to the themes of belonging, identity, and the power of language. Attendees will leave with a deeper appreciation for the complexities of decolonization and the importance of representation in theater.
