This holiday season, the Collaborative Theatre Project's Sound and Stage series will take you on a new journey of the wooden toy soldier based on the evolution of this beloved classic. It re-integrates the fantastical delights of E.T.A. Hoffman's original 1816 story, The Nutcracker and the Mouse King, a strange but magical tale that explores the world of fantasy and imagination. But it also incorporates Alexandre Dumas' 1845 adaptation, The History of the Nutcracker, which served as the inspiration for the iconic Tchaikovsky ballet. With Daniel Sessions Stephens' new adaptation and Tchaikovsky's beloved music, this production promises to be a holiday delight not to be missed. Join us for an enlightening and entertaining revisiting of one of the most beloved holiday stories of all time.
